Steel plate tongs are a kind of lifting tool specially used for lifting and holding steel plates. With the assistance of multiple tongs, steel plates with a weight of several tons or even hundreds of tons can be lifted. However, such a powerful steel plate clamp will actually encounter steel plates that cannot be lifted. So what kind of steel plate will make the steel plate clamps unable to lift?
1. Overloaded steel plate. Forcibly hoisting a steel plate whose weight exceeds the load capacity of the steel plate clamp will only cause overload, and in severe cases, it will also cause cracks and deformation of the clamp body, and accidents such as falling of the steel plate will occur.
2. Too thick steel plate. The width of the mouth of the steel plate clamp is limited. If the steel plate is too thick, the steel plate clamp cannot firmly clamp the steel plate, and the steel plate will easily slip off when it is lifted forcibly.
3. Steel plates welded with other metal structures. If the hoisted steel plate is welded with other metal structural objects, the weight of the steel plate needs to be recalculated, and the structure welded on the steel plate cannot be confirmed to be stable, and it is likely to fall away from the steel plate after lifting.
4. The type of steel plate is different from that of the steel plate clamp. If the type of steel plate is special, different steel plate clamps should be selected. Such as I-beam and section steel, you need to use I-beam clamps. Round steel and round pipes need to use round steel and round pipe clamps. Special steel plate special treatment.
After knowing which steel plates of the steel plate tongs cannot be lifted, the user can avoid many unnecessary risks in advance, so that the lifting operation can be carried out smoothly.
